Please join us in welcoming world-renowned researcher Barbara Fredrickson, Ph.D. as this year’s Anniversary Speaker. Author of Positivity and Love 2.0: Finding Happiness and Health in Moments of Connection, Dr. Fredrickson will share how the powerful – though undervalued – state of mind can enhance your relationships, improve your health, relieve depression, and broaden your mind.
Dr. Fredrickson is the Kenan Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Her research reveals how positive emotions, fleeting as they are, can tip the scales toward a life of flourishing. Her research has been featured in the New York Times Sunday Magazine, CNN, PBS, U.S. News & World Report, USA Today, Oprah Magazine, and elsewhere.

Dr. Fredrickson’s visit is part of the annual Ruth Stricker Mind-Body Lecture, presented in cooperation with the Center for Spirituality and Healing at the University of Minnesota. Her lecture, Prioritizing Positive Emotions to Meet Our Toughest Challenges, takes place on Thursday, May 17 at 4:00 p.m. More details available online at csh.umn.edu.
