with Doug Merz, PT & Marsh Exercise Specialists
Wednesday, September 11, 12:00 p.m.
Healthy living is a moving target, so it’s important to periodically check your status. You may need to modify your exercises slightly or you may need to start new exercises now to prevent problems that you weren’t even aware were on the horizon.
How do you know what exercise YOU need? The Adult Functional Independence Test (AFIT) reveals your strengths and weaknesses. Only Physical Therapists certified as Functional Standards for Optimal Aging Experts (FSOAE), such as Doug Merz, can administer the AFIT.
At this interactive workshop, you will be taken through an AFIT individualized assessment to evaluate your specific strengths and weaknesses in the areas of posture, flexibility, balance, endurance and strength indicating risk for falls, fractures and other disabilities. You may not be experiencing any movement problems right now, but what if you are developing tendencies
or deficits that if uncorrected could lead to future problems? After this assessment, we will break out into specific movement groups with Marsh Exercise Specialists to do corrective exercises.
