Cancelled – Friday, March 13, 12:00 p.m.
A recent New York Times article, “When Life Throws You Curveballs, Embrace the ‘New Normal,’” noted a successful life is one “that rolls with the punches, adapts to changing circumstances, and makes the best of the here and now.” We invite you to look forward optimistically and join in on the conversation to address the emotional aspects of change… “to create your best new normal for now, with hope of making life the best it can be today, tomorrow and every day… happiness is your responsibility.”
We invite you to a casual and supportive gathering over the lunch hour as we share stories and resources for navigating a “new normal.” By mid-life and beyond, we have faced challenges ranging from cancer to injury and from job loss to the death of a loved one. Facilitated by certified health coach Lesley Koehnen, MA, NBC-HWC, we welcome anyone who is navigating change (all of us!) to an open discussion about “getting on with it” and thriving in your new circumstances rather than “getting over it” and trying to get back to your old “normal.” Hear from members who share their stories ranging from loss of a spouse, a life-changing diagnosis and life after cancer. A soup and salad buffet will be served. $25
