Brain Health with Dr. Richard Golden
Latest Research on Diabetes and Emerging Treatments and Technology
The reports are in. Research links diabetes to Alzheimer’s disease and the statistics are alarming …
• An estimated 14.6 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes;             plus an additional 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are                unaware that they have the disease.
• 5.2 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s.
That number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.               However, those projections do not include a possible increase
   from diabetes.
The economic impact that those numbers will have on our health care costs are frightening. The good news is that Type 2 Diabetes can often be prevented if you maintain a healthy weight and exercise regularly.
Our friend, and resident neurology expert, Dr. Richard Golden will continue our brain health education on Thursday, August 7, 7:00 p.m. Dr. Golden will address the importance of diabetes control and emerging techniques for treatment and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Members $20, Non-members $30. Please register in advance at the Front Desk.
