Ruth Stricker Mind-Body Lecture at University of Minnesota May 12
Harvard Medical School Professor Jacqueline Olds, MD will be the featured speaker at the 19th Annual Ruth Stricker Mind-Body Lecture at the University of Minnesota. Co-author of the provocative new book The Lonely American: Drifting Apart in the Twenty-first Century, Olds, along with her husband and co-author Richard S. Schwartz, MD, has brought loneliness--a very real and little-discussed social epidemic with frightening consequences--out into the open. Olds' lecture, Exploring the Importance of Human Connections to our Health and Wellness, will focus on the sobering ripple effects of loneliness in areas as varied as physical health, children's emotional problems, substance abuse and even global warming. The Ruth-Stricker Mind-Body lecture is hosted by the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality and Healing.
