A Community Presentation on The Science of Well-Being
with Esther Sternberg, M.D.
Monday, May 1, 7:00 p.m.

Minnetonka, MN—(April 5, 2011) Stress can make us sick, belief can help us heal, our moods can change our immune systems and our physical environment has the potential to heal or harm us. Esther Sternberg, M.D., a major force in collaborative initiatives on mind-body-stress-wellness and environment inter-relationships, will explain the science behind these phenomena when she presents The Science of Well-Being at The Marsh, A Center for Balance and Fitness in Minnetonka on Monday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Her presentation is followed by a Q&A Session, Book Signing and Reception. Sternberg will also be the guest speaker for the 21st Annual Ruth Stricker Mind-Body Lecture at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Spirituality & Healing on Monday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m. The lecture, Healing Spaces: The Science and Place of Well-being, begins at 4:00 p.m. and is followed by a book signing. In her presentations, Dr. Sternberg draws upon personal stories, scientific data and innovative research to help us understand the role of mind-body therapies and lifestyle choices in our personal well-being.
A physician, researcher, author, speaker and creator and host of PBS Television’s The Science of Healing, Sternberg is internationally recognized for her discoveries of the science of the mind-body interaction in illness and healing. For more than two decades she has been a member of the national Institutes of Health (NIH), the nation's medical research agency which conducts and supports basic, clinical, and translational medical research, and is investigates the causes, treatments, and cures for both common and rare diseases.
