Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Eight-week Series
Thursdays, June 20 – August 15 (no class July 4), 9:15 – 11:45 a.m., Silent Retreat: Sunday, August 4, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Whether you are seeking to feel less overwhelmed, more purposeful, less angry or more joyful, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an experience that will positively impact your life. Taught by MBSR instructor Terry Pearson, this eight-week series teaches you simple techniques to help you deal with stress, pain, illness and the challenges of everyday life. Toward a Positive Psychology
Fridays, June 7, 14 & 21, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Flowers in bloom, sun is shining, warmth returns… Summer is a perfect time to make the choice to start feeling good. Having a positive mindset is not always easy. The field of psychology has re-committed to the study of what works. We can do the same. With attention training and moment-by-moment taking actions that align with our values, we too can feel more positive. Join us for three workshops with Positive Psychology expert Debbie Cohen, M.Ed, M.APP (applied positive psychology), a mind-body skills and positive psychology trainer with U of M Health Psychiatry Department’s Integrative Wellness Program.
