with Deborah Adele

The yoga path, according to the Yoga Sutras, is a path that takes the mind from a state of constant movement and disturbance to a state of rest and harmony. It begins with the practice of the yamas and niyamas. Our asana and medication practice is founded on these ethical principles. If we go to our mat or cushion without honoring them, we do ourselves a disservice.

In this workshop, we will learn how to use yoga’s ethical principles to wean ourselves away from the chaos of disturbance and toward ever-growing tranquility. This workshop is also open to the professional yoga community for CECs. Lecture, discussion, self-reflection. Our guest instructor is Deborah Adele.

Deborah Adele holds master’s degrees in both Liberal Studies and Theology & Religion. An ERYT500, she carries yoga certifications in Kundalini yoga, Hatha yoga, Yoga Therapy, and Meditation. She is also trained as a Gestalt practitioner and a Somatics educator. For over 14 years, Deborah brought her combined knowledge of business and her in-depth knowledge of yoga philosophy to build Yoga North. She is the author of the groundbreaking book The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice. Deborah has also authored various published articles and two CDs: The Art of Relaxation and The Practice of Meditation. In whatever venue Deborah works, she uses her knowledge and training to support others in living a life of balance, clarity, and well-being.
